La Guerra, of Las Vegas, was found to have violated provisions of NRS 623 at
the December meeting of the Nevada State Board of Architecture, Interior Design
and Residential Design.
De La Guerra, who does not hold a certificate of registration issued by the board, was found to have violated NRS 623.360.1(a) by holding himself out to the public or soliciting business as an architect or residential designer in Nevada; NRS 623.360.1(b) by advertising or putting out a device to the public that he was an architect or residential designer or that he was otherwise qualified to engage in the practice of architecture or residential design; and NRS 623.360.1(c) by engaging in the practice of architecture or residential design. The board levied administrative penalties totaling $30,000 for these violations.
The NSBAIDRD is established under the provisions of NRS Chapter 623. The board is responsible for the administration, regulation and enforcement of the professions of architecture, registered interior design and residential design in Nevada. The board reviews applications, administers examinations, registers qualified applicants and regulates the professional practice of registrants throughout the state. In addition, it investigates complaints relating to the practice of the professions. The board encourages consumers to contact the office before hiring a design professional to determine if they are registered and are in good standing.

health and property, and to promote the public welfare by improving the quality
of human environmental design. The NSBAIDRD will empower and ensure that
architects, registered interior designers and residential designers provide the
highest quality of professional services.
